Stories of our proverbs and idioms

About the project

With this project,students from different cultures will compare and contrast their cultural experiences giving birth to different proverbs and idioms. Calender of activities

-To inform students about the goals and activities of project.
-To ask students to search the most known proverbs,idioms and their birth stories.
-To express the studies via reports and dramatisation.
-To share videos of studies on padlet.
-To have debate on studies on Skype
-To form a mobile dictionary application on this study.
The projects starts in December and lasts till June.

Aims

  • Students will be aware of the experiences shaping languages.
  • They will see whether the same experiences result in same language expressions or not.
  • They will see how the language is developing in time and the role of life styles determining the common phrases such as proverbs and idioms.
  • They will learn about different cultures and their stories.
  • They will use ICT to stay in touch with their peers and evaluate what they have learnt.
  • By means of creating a web application they will make their study permanent and continuous.

Work process

  1. To inform students about the goals and activities of project.
  2. To introduce students each other by making them create quizes about their countries so each parner school students search for the missing information and learn eac other.
  3. To ask students to search the most known proverbs,idioms and their birth stories.
  4. To prepare written presentations and visual-video presentations about studies.
  5. To share videos of studies on padlet.
  6. To have debate on studies on Skype
  7. To form a project logo 
  8. To form a mobile dictionary application on this study by including all studies.
These studies will be done together with partner schools in same periods to be able to go on studies in harmony.They will be scheduled each other,deadlines will be determined ,all studies will be collected on the mutual forum and assessed together.







Expected result

At the end of the project,studies will brought together and a mobile dictionary application will be done and Twinspace project journal will be prepared to make the study permanent.

Cultural heritage comes in many shapes and forms, also in Science: tangible for example microscopes, research centres, computerized axial tomography machines; intangible for example the Scientific’s effort and constancy to spread the knowledge in order to improve people’s health and wellbeing; natural for example the electromagnetic radiation spectrum or microscopic world with its fauna and flora and digital shape that includes digital creations as a way to preserve the scientific cultural heritage.
This project will start in March and regarding the 8th International women day we would like to highlight the contribution of women to the Science. Starting with pioneer women who fought to make visible women's achievements in science to nowadays scientific women in hospitals, chemistry and physics laboratories and research centres.
This project aims to build digital creations as a way to preserve the contribution of women to science and pay tribute to all women who contribute to improving

Aims

This project will help us:
  1. To better learn scientific women names all over the history and share their contributions to Science
  2. To concrete suggestions about how to carry out collaborative products as digital books, presentations, infographics, etc
  3. To have access to videos of inspiring practice and other support material
  4. To work in teams improving our communication and social skills
  5. To discuss, share, and reflect on this topic: which women and how they improve the scientific knowledge. 
  6. To use a variety of online tools and social media to communicate and engage in some amazing activities.

Work process
  • According to monthly plans from March to June we create digital material about women in Science. At the beginning of the month we share the plan and select the women.
  • Students will create a digital material in which the contribution of the scientific will be shown and a digital activity to review and check the information as a team or peer review.
  • Students and teachers will spread the project with educational purposes in as many places as possible.
Expected results

  • Project journal in which monthly plan will be announced
  • Friendship and improvement of social and communication skills
  • Twinspace in which all thoughts and digital material will be planned, shown and assessed by the students and thoughts 
  • Digital material to be shared by all the schools in order to be used as class material, for example digital book, infographics, puzzles, learning activities (learningapps), visual bookmarking tool that makes it easy to find the scientific women’s contribution (Symbaloo).









Promotion of healthy lifestyles during education

This project was awarded with National and European Quality Label. Congratulations!

The project is for students aged 11 to 20+. The time period is September 2018 - February 2019 (Three phases of the project). Participants will improve understanding and importance of healthy lifestyles for the overall development of personality and further life. Participants will acquire knowledge about health, learn about their own educational system and health education in their own school, as well as learn about the educational system and health education of other countries in the project. Participants will analyze the factors that threaten the health and working on different campaigns in schools and out of schools that promote healthy lifestyles. Innovative teaching methods will be used and English language as the language of products.

Aims

  • Teachers will improve their competencies, like language skills, ICT skills and cross-curricular cooperation. This project will contribute to the School Development Plan.
  • Students will improve their language skills, cooperation, ICT skills. They will learn to appreciate their own and other cultures and respect differences.Their motivation will be better as well as self-confidence.
  • Students will participate in peer education, they will have the opportunity to become educators and promoters of healthy lifestyles.
  • Each school will improve their relations with parents of students, local community and institutions. 
  • Our main objectives are to examine the educational systems and health education in our own and in our partner schools’ countries, comparing their strengths and weaknesses and to discuss and compare programs of organized health education and different ways of promoting healthy lifestyles.
  • The aim is to foster cooperation among students from different countries.
Work Process

  • In addition to two founders, we will include more schools in order to develop the project.
  • We will have the same topic and the same method of work and similar products. Students will create products and teachers will help them. We will post them on eTwinning, school sites and in other media. In the final phase all schools will work together and the students of each school in the project will create digital products.
  1. First phase: -Health education programs within the compulsory education, -Health education through extracurricular activities,
  2. Second phase: Factors that affect health (physical activity, nutrition, fresh air, mental health, tooth health, reproductive health, family health, prevention of infectious diseases),-Preparation and realization of students' actions for the promotion of healthy lifestyles,
  3. Third phase: -Final exhibition, concert, digital products, evaluation, dissemination.
  4. All activities include cooperation between schools.
Expected results

  • Students are expected to benefit by their participation.
  • They are expected to share this new awareness with other students and schools by means of various actions.
  • Students are expected to create a joint action to promote healthy lifestyles, to create volunteer action at school and outside school.
  • The final product will be a digital newspaper with students' works
  • All products will be presented in Twinspace and school sites and other media.
  • In all schools teachers will improve their competencies (language, ICT, methods) and their colleagues will be motivated to join in.
